Lucky blue dot!!!

blue dot
Does anyone remember the lucky blue dot that the National Inquirer used to put in their magazine? Well it came up in a conversation with my best friend the other night and she had no idea what I was talking about. So let me explain it to those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about. Well, first of all it was a blue dot (see picture above). You were suppose to cut it out and carry it around with you (which I did), and it was to bring you good luck. Well this might sound stupid to you but it brought me good luck three times. Not bad for a little blue dot if you ask me.
The first time was when I went to the bank to get my very first loan (for a used car). The second time was when I went to buy a new car and they gave me a loan as well. The third time was for a Workers Comp. claim (not a lot of money but the employer owed me and I wasn't about to let him get away with it). So if you ask me, I think that little blue dot worked pretty good for me
Does anyone have any blue dot stories? I would love to hear about them.

maizzy - I don't read the enquirer either but we used to have them in the office where I worked (I'm not just saying that ha ha). It was about 15 years ago too. Gee, that just aged me a little.

I'm glad you're enjoying the useless info posts too.

Our friend Jaime sent us this link after talking about all the positive benefits of the blue dot. She faithfully carries this blue dot in her purse and has had much good luck. For instance she found a house to rent just this week and is giving all the benefit to the blue dot. Another fortunate outcome from the blue dot is the outpouring of support of her blue dot friends. She'll make converts of us yet!!!

I am a huge Blue Dot believer! Years ago I used to carry it around and just a few weeks ago I bought the Enquirer and there it was! I clipped it out and put it in my Reef flip flops. There is a secret compartment in them that slides out. I wear my flip flops every day and I believe it works!
I went to the casino just because I had the blue dot and I was playing Video Poker. I hit 4 Aces with a kicker for $500! TWICE!
I bought over a hundred artist paintbrushes at a garage sale for $5 bucks and sold them on Ebay for 129.00 today! Yes, I do believe! Years ago I swore by it too but I don't remember any details. Go get yourself one!

I bought the National Enquirer in the UK last week and guess what - it had two pages set asside to the lucky blue dot with a blue dot to cut out and keep. If it helps people think and see things in a positive light, then why not?!?

I have cut mine out and put it in my purse with some competition papers - if I win, I will let you know!

Happy New Year from the UK!

I had the best fishing streak ever after carrying that blue dot. For the type of fishing I do and the areas I'm able to fish, catching fish is very difficult at times. Sometimes, I can go months without catching anything. But while carrying that blue dot, I caught fish 17 times in a row over a 4 months period. Too bad it got wet while I was fishing.

I still have my lucky blue dot that my mother gave me years (and I mean years ago). I think it was one of the original runs of the blue dot in the Enquirer. My mother is a firm believer in luck and all those superstitious things. I still carry mine to this day, I just don't have the heart to throw it away. I will say that when I need luck I pull it out and rub on it. I haven't been disappointed yet.

I'm not sure if that will work but you can buy the National Enquirer and check to see if its in in the current issue or you can subcribe to them and they will send you a free one or you can buy a older edition with the Blue Dot in it. I purchased the June 16, 2008 from imperial merchant on Ebay.

On 11/6/96 the blue dot was on TV. They said touch it for good luck, I did and then shot the largest deer of my life. I have not thought about it for years, so I am trying to get one of my own.

What about the 3-minute anyone familiar with that pamphlet? There was some guy on the dole being left by his wife and someone turns him on to the 3-minute miracle and he then suggests that women started to find him attractive and his ex-girlfriend then wanted to marry him.

Back in junior high I played basketball and was terrible, never made one basket. My mom always bought the enquirer and I saw it, cut it out and put it in my shoe before my next game. I made 4 baskets, the only baskets I made the whole season. The blue dot was destroyed by the end of the game, but it worked! I'm on the hunt for one now. Looks like I'll be flipping through the enquirer every time I'm in the grocery line now!

Yesterday (10/29/09)my mother gave me this old, faded, torn-out 25+ year old paper of a blue dot!! She said she had 3 for her 3 girls and kept them in her dictionary for us to find after she passed, for fun. She said she recently decided to give them to us now! I had NO idea what it was, but glad to read about it. I'll keep you posted as I just started to rub it! Kathy K.

Sorry if it seems like shameless promotion, but I did just make an iPhone app where you can 'rub the blue dot'. ( Only 99 cents ...

The 'blue dot' has become family folklore; my mother still attributes all our good fortune to it and this app was indeed her idea.

I just found my lamenated "Blue Dot", for years forgot I had it. Anyway I do remember when I was using it at the casinos, I would rub it just before going in and most of the time my luck was great. I don't know how I forgot about using it. I'm going to the casino for my birthday and I will certainly carry my new found Blue Dot.

I have a very intriguing story about the blue dot. Okay, so I'm 15 years old and in true love. It sounds corny, but listen to my story.

I was with this girl, Julia for 6 months. She had been through allot of the pain I struggled through my whole life; so beautiful, understanding. She meant everything to me but at a point we got in fights that dragged on and on because we never came to a solution. May 3'rd she left me for another man. My heart was snapped, I was suicidal and it felt as if this blackness was consuming me. after the 2'nd day of tears and sleeping with my mom crying (Pathetic, right?) around the same time my mom was reading the Enquirer and read the article; she cut the dot out for me and gave it to me in hopes it would stitch my heart up; 3 days later she came back to me. I had never been so happy, the timing was amazing.

Believe in the blue dot, because it's all about the idea of hope. Whether it's the blue dot or the lucky rabbits foot it's about belief; these objects bring us hope which lead to persistence.

In 2008, I cut the blue dot out of the enquirer, the next day went to bingo, and won $10,875.72, and have lost it, would really like to get another one. Does the enquirer still put it in the newspaper. I have been looking for it, but have not been able to find it.
